How to run a Facebook live that actually sells

October 20, 2026 · 2 min read

Lives are popular in Mauritius: launches, giveaways, showroom tours, flash sales. A good live feels spontaneous, but the ones that sell are carefully prepared.

Before the live

  • Pick one clear goal: launch a product, sell a stock, collect bookings, or announce a giveaway winner.
  • Announce it two or three days ahead with a post and Stories, then again an hour before.
  • Choose the time when your audience is free, often in the evening on weekdays.
  • Test the connection, sound and light. Bad audio loses viewers faster than bad video.
  • Prepare a run sheet: intro, products to show, offers, questions to answer, closing.

During the live

  • Start with energy and say what viewers will get by staying.
  • Greet people by name and answer comments live.
  • Show products up close and repeat the key offer every few minutes for people who join late.
  • Have a second person handling comments and taking orders in Messenger.
  • Keep it focused. Twenty to forty minutes is often enough.

Giveaways

Giveaways boost participation, but follow the platform’s promotion rules (see Meta’s Business Help Centre) and publish clear terms: dates, conditions, how the winner is chosen. Announce the winner publicly.

After the live

  1. Keep the replay online and pin it for a few days.
  2. Reply to every comment and message left during the live.
  3. Cut the best moments into short clips for Reels and TikTok.
  4. Look at the numbers: peak viewers, comments, messages and sales.
